Precita Park Cafe

Precita Park Cafe is part of the Park Cafe Group that includes the wildly successful Dolores Park Cafe and Duboche Park Cafe.  Precita Park Cafe opened in 2011 and was a welcome venue to those of us in North Slope Bernal Heights, a locals place where friends can meet and enjoy good food in a pleasant atmosphere for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, the only one of its kind in our ‘hood.  As their website says “Precita Park Café, opened in 2011 and immediately filled a void for this Bernal Heights/Mission District neighborhood.”  It’s really true.  You feel a lot of comfort at Precita Park Cafe, and you know that great care is taken in making homemade, fresh, sustainable food.

Inside Precita Park Cafe

Whether it’s just for coffee and an internet session or a full-on three course dinner meal, Precita Park Cafe delivers.  On the night I headed there with my dogs (there is outside seating to do so), I decided to blow it with a fennel sausage and kalamata olive pizza, pictured above.  The pizzas are handcrafted with dough and tomato sauce from scratch, and you can tell.  The crust is crispy and the flavors bold, and each speaks for itself.  I do prefer pizza wedge cuts vs. square cuts, but that’s a minor issue, and I’m sure you can ask for the wedge cut.

The Precita Park Cafe dinner menu is simple with salmon, pork, chicken, a burger and a vegetarian offering.  Happy hour is well attended, and the place is jammed during the weekend brunch offering.
