1982 Chateau Haut Brion
Cigars and mushrooms. And that musty color that reflects the fine aging of a 32-year-old 1982 Chateau Haut Brion bottle of French Bordeaux. Pessac, where the wine is from, is in the Graves region of Bordeaux, France, where the most expensive Bordeaux wines are produced. Wiki can tell you all about the Graves region.
Wine-searcher agrees with my assessment, and the average rating amongst various reviews is 95.3 out of 100. They say the current average price of this wonderful bottle of 1982 Chateau Haut Brion is four digits!! Our friends Russell and Marcy from Honolulu gave us this wine, and we enjoyed it last night for Valentine’s Day with Steak Diane and Pommes Frites, a perfect French combination. The 1982 Chateau Haut Brion was so smooth and with a rich, long finish. I’m happy I didn’t look up the price before enjoying it. I may have felt too guilty to enjoy this, just the two of us.
